Home Visitor

Home Visitors have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of families with young children, helping them reach their full potential by working with them in their homes on a weekly basis.

Day to Day – What Does It Look Like?

As a home visitor, you’ll visit one-on-one with 10-12 families for 90 minutes each week.  Each family’s visit will look different based on their needs.  Home Visitors plan and implement weekly lessons, complete assessments on the children, take observations and record their child development and behaviors.  

You’ll have a team of other home visitors to plan and network with on a daily or weekly basis. 

The office location for this position is based on the caseload.  Currently we are seeking applicants that can work in either Thief River Falls or Oklee, MN. 

Typical home visitor schedule is Monday through Thursday 7:30 am-5:00 pm and Fridays 8:00 am-12 noon.  There is the possibility of later hours during the week for home visits after families get off work, or evening and weekend recruitment or family events.

Who are we looking for?

  • A person with great communication skills.  A person that can talk with parents and children (primarily ages 0-3).
  • A person that has patience and are able to work with people with different abilities.
  • A person that is creative, that can use our provided curriculum and engage young children and parents.  A person that can adapt these lessons for different ages and abilities.
  • A person that is organized, can manage their time with multiple tasks and paperwork.
  • A person with good computer skills.


Qualifications

  • Home Visitor CDA (Child Development Associate) or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.  Do not have these credentials?  Apply anyway – we may be able to train you!
  • Experience working with young children (personal or professional) preferred
  • Must complete a background check prior to hire.

Employment Case Manager

Subs

We are building our roster of substitutes our classroom locations (Thief River Falls and Bagley) for Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers.  These are on an on-call basis. 

Substitute Assistant Teacher:  hours are dependent upon need – classrooms are open Monday through Thursday 8 am – 3 pm, classroom located in Thief River Falls & Bagley MN.  Work with a team to provide care and education to 4 years olds in a classroom setting; primary duties include assisting the teachers in the classroom with group activities, cleaning, and assisting children with handwashing/toothbrushing.  Must be able to pass a background check.  Position requires Child Development Associate or willingness to obtain within the first year of employment.  Experience with children preferred, additional training will be provided. 

Substitute Lead Teacher:  hours are dependent upon need – classrooms are open Monday through Thursday 8 am – 3 pm, classroom located in Thief River Falls & Bagley.  Work with a team to provide care and education to 4 years olds in a classroom setting; primary duties include supervising & monitoring children, and working with staff on classroom on daily activities. Must be able to pass a background check. Position requires an AA in Early Childhood or related degree. Experience with children preferred, additional training will be provided.
